Company history

Pharmarctica was founded in the year 2002 and started manufacturing in May 2003. The founders of Pharmarctica are Torfi Halldórsson pharmacist, Jónína Jóhannesdóttir pharmacist, Bergþóra Stefánsdóttir nurse and the company Sænes. Today Pharmarctica´s stockholders are Sænes, Sparisjóður Höfðhverfinga and Jónína Jóhannesdóttir. 

In the beginning Pharmarctica mainly produced so called Formulas Of Doctors and selection of cosmetics. Later the company started to evolve into current form as contract manufacturing started to build up and become constantly a larger part of the company daily work. Today Pharmarctica has worked for many of the biggest cosmetic and health care companies in Iceland such as Landspítalinn, Sóley organics, Icepharma and BioEffect.

The last 5 years Pharmarctica has expanded it´s field and is now a leading company in production of cosmetics, liquid soaps, syrups, antiseptics and dieatery
